A memorable Dine
Soya Chaap and Puri(Pudi)
Yesterday I had the honour of having dined with my friend after a very long time. I visited him and decided to cook Soya Chaap (a reputed famous dish of Delhi). But we had some conflated thoughts about the companion of this Soya Chaap, that what to cook either rice or chapatti. With some random thoughts, my friend asked shall we make puri (pudi)? Although neither of us had made puri before, yet we strived to make and, eventually, the result surpasses our anticipation, puri was far better than what we expected, it was soft, crispy and tasty, I guess the refined oil may have enhanced the flavour. I indeed enjoyed the dinner with him and thought about Puri, the origin, the name etc, I searched somewhere but I did not find the exact place of origin but it was originated in the Indian subcontinent as I found on internet. Our neighbouring countries also eat the dish Puri, the name may vary with varying places.
So what is this Puri? Puri that is spelt Puri or Pudi is a fat fried bread made from unleavened whole wheat flour. It is usually served with a savoury curry or bhaji as in puri bhaji. It is also be eaten with sweet dishes.
